    Suzani is a type of embroidered and decorative tribal textile made in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries. Suzan means needle. The art of making such textiles called Suzandozi (needlework).

    Suzani usually has a cotton (sometimes silk) fabric base, which is embroidered in silk or cotton thread and buttonhole stitches are the primary stitches used. There is also extensive use of coaching, in which decorative thread laid on the fabric as a raised line is stitched in place with a second thread.

The oldest surviving suzanis are from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

This Piece is around 100 years old and still in a very good condition with beautiful black, pomegranate and bright red color silk stitches on cotton fabric, It will be an amazing gift to a friend or a collector or will be a treasured addition to any home decor collection and will look phenomenal at any room, whether it’s fitted with other antiques or more modern pieces
